you don't TurboTax does this automatically once you enter the UC Comp and you have finished entering items that determine your modified adjusted gross income (no exclusion if MAGI over $150K)

If you are eligible for the exclusion the program will calculate that for you and enter the result on your tax return.  All you need to do is enter the unemployment compensation you received in 2020 as reported on the Form 1099-G that you received from your state.

 

Enter unemployment compensation in the Search box located in the upper right of the program screen. Click on Jump to unemployment compensation


If you had taxes withheld from the unemployment compensation -

On the screen What's the total amount you received on your 1099-G? check the box Federal or state income tax was withheld on this payment.
