No, you should be able to send off your Home Heating Credit Form MI-1040-CR7 form along with the rest of your Michigan tax forms electronically as long as the form was generated and included with the E-file. You should be able to see the form MI-1040-CR7 when you print out your forms.
I have my taxes completed but my home heating credit form keeps saying "available soon". I signed up for email notifications and recieved one saying it was ready. I checked it and it still said "available soon". I waited another week and got another email saying it was ready. It stated it would be available Feb 6th. Went in to check again and it's back to the original message. Is there a glitch with the form? I see above I should be able to e-file it when ready, which was the other question I had. I'm just wondering how long the wait is because I started this on Jan 6th and I'm still waiting to complete it.
According to the state availability forms in TurboTax, it should be ready 2/06/2020. Please verify this by selecting this link. I know this may be frustrating but hang in there a little longer. God bless your patience.
So I filed my taxes before my home heating form came:( is there anyway I can print the form off and mail it in? Or am I screwed now? @DaveF1006
There are several suggestions on the Michigan Department of Health HOME PAGE indicating ways you can apply for the Credit.
Please see the attached link: Michigan Department of Health & Human Services
So I printed the home heating credit forms off. At the top of the paper it asks if I'm amending my taxes? Do i have to amend them to send in this form? I am so confused on the whole amending thing.
No, you are not amending your taxes. You can mail the forms.
So even though I already filled my taxes I just have to mail this form in and im good?
Yes! Then you can be done!!
This is my 1st time claiming the home heating credit, All my online taxes have been straight forward until I reach the end of home heating credit and get stuck on the question of when or how I plan to send in form 1040CR-7!
Not sure how to answer, is this a form I am supposed to have c already or is it provided with the TurboTax deluxe service?
Form MI-1040CR-7 is included as part of the Michigan tax return, if you answered the appropriate questions in the TurboTax Michigan interview.
That is, if you saved a printed or PDF copy of your tax return (you should), you will see the MI-1040CR-7 in the output.
As for filing, the state of Michigan says, "If you are required to file a Michigan Individual Income Tax MI-1040 submit the Home Heating Credit Claim MI-1040CR-7 with your MI-1040." So when you file your Michigan tax return with TurboTax, if the MI-1040CR-7 is part of your Michigan form set, then your MI-1040CR-7 is also filed.
I filed the mi state taxes online. I’m a first time MI filer and unsure of the home heating credit claim. It printed out with the rest of my 1040 so does that mean it’s filed or do I mail it in and if I do what else do I mail with it
thank you
The Michigan website says:
How do I file a Home Heating Credit MI-1040CR-7?
If you are required to file a Michigan Individual Income Tax MI-1040 submit the Home Heating Credit Claim MI-1040CR-7 with your MI-1040. If you are not required to file an MI-1040, you may file your Home Heating Credit Claim by submitting form MI-1040CR-7 only. The due date for filing a Home Heating Credit Claim is September 30.
You should include a paper copy of your Michigan MI-1040 return when you send it, so they can refer to the household income numbers.
But if I filed using TurboTax efile
is it already filed or do I still have to send it in
