We never lived in another state and it keeps asking me about Alabama

Check your state of residency and your income statements to see if Alabama (AL) may have been selected in error. 

To check your personal info, sign into your return, and select My Info on the left. Select the pencil beside your name to view and edit your state of residence.

To check your income statements, type the name of the income statement(s) you have in the search box on the upper right (ex. w2). Select the "jump to" option to quickly go back to that section and edit the forms. Scroll down and check the state(s) entered.
