Cannot choose direct deposit for Form 201 NYS

Turbotax defaults to paper check for refunds. I want to choose direct deposit for New York State. I navigated to Forms > Form 201 (for state filing) and wanted to check line 78b for direct deposit but it doesn't allow me to change. How can I make this change?

It sounds like you are using the CD/Download TurboTax software. Choose how you want to get your refund in the Step-by-Step interview, not in forms mode. When you go through the filing section of the interview, when you get to the state return it will ask you how you want to get your state refund. You will be able to choose direct deposit.

Yes, I am using the download on my computer. However, even upon completing my NYS returns, it doesn't prompt me on how I would like to receive my refunds.

The prompt for how you want to receive your refund is not in the New York section of the interview on the State Taxes tab. You have to go to the File tab and proceed through the questions until you get to the section for filing the New York return.
