It sounds like you are using the CD/Download TurboTax software. Choose how you want to get your refund in the Step-by-Step interview, not in forms mode. When you go through the filing section of the interview, when you get to the state return it will ask you how you want to get your state refund. You will be able to choose direct deposit.
