I'm having the same problems with that stupid screen that nevere works ("Oops. Looks like we hit a snag." I can't even file my Federal return, even though there's nothing to pay for. (The same instructions to "purchase" come up when trying to e-file separately, again, even though there's no charge to e-file Federal & Audit Defense is free.)
I have lost countless hours at the computer & on the phone. (I, too, have been hung up by the so-called customer service reps at the 1-800-4-INTUIT.)
All the suggested fixes DON'T WORK. I've done them multiple times.
This glitch is the only thing keeping me from being done with my 2025 taxes!

Are you using Online TurboTax? And if Online, what product edition are you using (Free, Deluxe, Premium), and is it Online TurboTax via a browser, or are you using the mobile app?
Why is your Audit Defense free? What offer are you referring to?
If Online TurboTax, you can't efile a Federal return by itself unless you delete the state return. The state return can be added back later and efiled once the efiled Federal return has been accepted.
@ user17712095505 Also, if Online TurboTax, check for any fees this way:
With your return open go to the left menu column and choose the tab TAX TOOLS, then the subtab TOOLS. In the Tools window choose MY FEES. What all is shown there?
