Can I do partial-year sales tax deduction?

Hi, I have a very special situation here. I'm jointly filing with my husband for 2017. I lived in New York entire year, however he lived in California till Oct 9th and then moved to Washington state. I know that we can deduct our combined SALT in schedule A (from both California and New York), but I'm wondering for the less than 3 months period when he lived in Washington state, can we deduct the sales tax incurred during that time?? It's like partial income tax deduction and partial sales tax deduction, so I'm not sure what to do.

Thanks in advance!!

Can I do partial-year sales tax deduction?

No, unfortunately you have to choose the state and local income or sales tax deduction for the entire year.
