Can I deduct what I paid a community solar association?

Payments to a community solar association aren't of themselves generally considered deductible because they do not directly relate to personal deductible expense expenses that qualify under IRS rules

However, you may be eligible for the Renewable Energy Credit if the payments are for the purchase/installation of solar panels or other qualifying energy-saving equipment.
