California amended return not transmitted

I filed an amended 1040X for 2021, and was expecting TurboTax desktop to also file an amended California return, but there's no provision for that in the current version. I guess I can mail in the amended return (the Fed has been accepted), but the instructions that print out say not to mail it in. These instructions look like boilerplate for the normal, un-amended case.

Is filing an amended state return going to be fixed, or should I just send in the return by mail?

Yes, the program was just updated, so the instructions provided are still being updated at this time. You do have to mail in the amended return. I would suggest checking back maybe in the middle of this week or the end of the week and it should be completely updated at that time.
