I use the desktop Premiere version of TTax.
After having filed, I learned that I had transposed a number when I entered my estimated taxes paid to California FTB. I had paid $180 less than what I entered. I filed an amended return.
HOWEVER, I see two problems:
1) The EasyStep display shows that I owed California $180. That's incorrect. I owed $184, because there was an underpayment penalty that increased from $9 to $13 because of the $180 deficit. The amended return properly calculated the penalty, but failed to reflect the increased penalty amount in the EasyStep summary.
2) More importantly, the "Schedule X" (explanation of amended return changes) TTax generated so that I could print and mail it to FTB is also erroneous, taking "amount you owe" (Part 1 Line 1) from the pre-penalty box at Form 540 line 111 when it should take it from line 114, which includes penalties. Luckily, I caught this and will print and submit the accurate Schedule X I downloaded from California's FTB website.
It sure would be nice if there were a convenient way to report TT bugs to Intuit.
