Arizona state tax software errors. TT asks me to enter my address on form 310(solar credit) when I have claimed no credit. Error #2, TT asks me to list employer zip code and state although I do not have an employer. I am retired.

This is a known issue.  Please click on the link below for updates.  TurboTax will advise you when the issue has been rectified.

Arizona updates for Form 310

You can also try the following as it may rectify the issue as well.

After you log into TurboTax and select the Federal section located in the black panel on the left:

  1. Select Deductions & Credits
  2. Scroll through all tax breaks until you see the section titled Your Home.
  3. To the right of Home Energy Credits, select revisit
  4. The next screen will be titled Energy-Saving Home Improvements.  Scroll down to the bottom of the page and select "No, we did not make energy-efficient improvements or have any carryforward."
  5. This should remove the credit from being pulled into your state tax return.

Residential energy credit

You can also review your input in the state interview section.

Select State in the black panel on the left hand side of your screen when logged into TurboTax.

This will take you to a screen titled Let's get your state taxes done right.  Click continue on this screen.

You will see the following screen titled Status of your state returns.  Select Edit to the right of your state.

State input section

Proceed through the screens until you see a screen titled Other Nonrefundable Credits.

Make sure the box is not checked to the left of Solar and wind energy devices (Form 310).

In regards to the error regarding your employer zip code, you may need to delete any input in the Wages (W-2) section of the input.

  1. Go to the Federal section of the program.
  2. Select Income & Expenses
  3. Select Job (W-2)
  4. Select the little trash can icon to the right of the any W-2 entries to remove the wages.  (I am assuming you did not receive any W-2 forms for 2020.  If you did, you may need to select Edit and review your input instead.)

I just entered my address and was able to bypass the error., although I am not even applying for the solar credit and it's a error on the software until they can fix it, I tried the work around that was posted and it didn't work, so I just entered my address and it was able to fix itself.  I was able to file my taxes with no issues.
