Acceptance of State return

I e-filed both Fed and State on 4-14-22.

The Fed accepted on 4-14-22 and the State has not yet responded.

If the State responds after 4-18-22 and rejects , would that be considered filing late ?

Any pre-emptive action that can be taken ?

Acceptance of State return

No. Your return is considered to be filed on time if you filed before the due date and it was rejected – as long as it if fixed and approved by the grace period.

These IRS rules generally apply to states: What if I e-filed before April 18, but my return got rejected after the deadline?
