Product Turbo Tax Desktop
When Turbo Tax prepared my Ohio state tax, an Ohio IT/SD 2210 Interest Penalty on Underpayment of Ohio Individual Income, School District Income and Pass-Through Entity Tax was generated. The amount of interest was generated and reported to Ohio correctly. Along with this Turbo Tax also prepared 4 Ohio IT 1040ES Individual Estimated Income Tax vouchers for 2022. The instructions state that I am to mail each voucher by the due date and pay the amout due.
During the tax year 2021 my income consisted of Social Security, Ohio Unemployment and IRA distribtions all of which had no Ohio state income taxed withheld.
The question I have is what triggered the SD 2210 and Estimated Income Tax Vouchers?

An interest penalty may be charged if your tax liability exceeds $500 or quarterly estimated payments were not made timely. You should complete the 2210 if your tax liability (Ohio income tax minus Ohio withholding, credit carry forward, estimated payments, and refundable credits) is greater than $500 or the estimated payments were not made by the due dates on the 1040ES voucher.
Thanks.
