Would my retirement contributions to Arkansas Teacher Retirement entitle me to a tax credit?
Yes, but only your employee contributions, which are usually accounted for in box 12 or box 14 of your W2. The employer's contribution does not count- just the amount that came out of your paychecks.
If you made employee contributions, Box 1 of your W2 has been reduced, which has the same effect as a deduction.
