I have a 401K rollover to an IRA and the word ROLLOVER is printed between verbiage for lines 5a and 5b. The worksheet has a sticky note option at that location. If I type a note in there about the rollover will TurboTax attach it to my forms for the IRS?

I think you are referring to the Explain button on line 4b. This button is for providing explanations that are required for certain types of IRA distributions (recharacterizations, returns of contributions) and has nothing to do with a 401(k) distribution.
No, explanation statements/attachments do not get sent with your return. Only the required forms are sent to the IRS. It is for your records only. The word ROLLOVER on the Form 1040 is sufficient for the IRS.
