I took a distribution of $10,000 and returned $7,000 within 60 days. The 1099-R shows the same gross amount in boxes 1 and 2a because we can still make contributions until April 15, 2018. I answered all the TurboTax questions regarding the rollover including box that asked for the amount of the rollover. When the income is shown, it is still on the gross amount.

$10K will show in the income column as gross amount always shows up there.
For example is I moved $200K from one IRS to another it will show as $200K in my Income column (which just means it has been entered there) and the return on 15b line would show $0 in my example if I had no other 1099R. It just shows it has been entered.

Under the Cares Act I did a 60- day rollover of the RMD I received. My 1099 shows only the total disbursement to me, there was nothing to show that i had refunded the total disbursement by the rollover. What can I do to show that the disbursement to me had been returned by the 60-day rollover? Will Turbo Tax be issuing any guidance on how to handle this?
