It is free if you only have SSA1099----but if Social Security was your only income, you are not required to file a tax return unless you have a 1095A for marketplace health insurance. If you have a 1095A, you cannot use the Free Edition---you have to upgrade to a paid version.

That form (SSA-1099) is included in the Free edition of TurboTax. Use the instructions linked here to downgrade back to the Free edition. If that is your only income, you probably do not need to file a return. Do I need to file a return?
