Why is my total retirement amount less than my taxable amount?

Taxable amount of my retirement is $20 higher than actual total retirement?

Is box 2a more than box 1 on your 1099R?   Do you have more than 1 1099R?  Check all your entries.  It's ok for line 4a or 5a to be blank or less than the taxable amount on the b line.  That happens if the gross and taxable amount for a 1099R is the same then it doesn't show up on the "a" line.
