I'm doing my 2020 Tax Return and I was having problems completing the form.  I just noticed that it is a Form 1040-SR "US Tax Return for Seniors". I didn't fill out one of these last year.  It is very different from a regular 1040.  Why am I getting this "senior' form off the Turbo Tax Disc????

The 1040 and 1040SR are actually identical except that the 1040SR has bigger print and displays the standard deduction amounts.  The lines are numbered exactly the same way and the calculations are done exactly the same way.   If the date of birth you entered for yourself or your spouse indicates that you were 65 or older before the end of 2020, the software uses the 1040SR.  It is nothing to be concerned about at all.   Your tax due or refund are not affected in any way.

If I wanted a Big Print Edition specially for Seniors I'd have asked for it. Finding it only after completing my taxes and printing the forms is absurd and insulting. I'm not embarrassed by my age. I'm proud of it, but WTF Intuit?! I wear glasses and read just fine, thank you. Do you have a Kid Edition for child actors?

Actually, the IRS decided to create it because they were getting a lot of request for large print.
