Retirement tax questions
The 1040 and 1040SR are actually identical except that the 1040SR has bigger print and displays the standard deduction amounts. The lines are numbered exactly the same way and the calculations are done exactly the same way. If the date of birth you entered for yourself or your spouse indicates that you were 65 or older before the end of 2020, the software uses the 1040SR. It is nothing to be concerned about at all. Your tax due or refund are not affected in any way.
