Why do i owe state taxes on out of state retirement pension?

My retirement pension is from Florida not from Indiana so why do I have to pay Indiana taxes on it?

If you are a resident of Indiana, your pension income from another state is taxable in Indiana.

Pensions are taxed by the state where you are a resident, not where you used to live when you worked.
