Why am I being penalized for early IRA withdrawal for higher education. I thought higher education is an exception. Thanks

Up to $10,000 that was paid for higher education in 2020 for you, a spouse or dependent can be excluded from the early distribution penalty, not the normal tax.

TurboTax will ask for exceptions.
