Before you enter your SEP IRA contributions, first make sure you've entered your self employment income. This allows TurboTax to calculate the maximum amount you're allowed to contribute to your SEP IRA.

Where do I enter my SEP IRA contributions?

To view the calculation worksheet:

  1. From the left menu select Tax Tools then Print Center
  2. Select Print, save, or preview this year's return and follow any additional instructions.
  3. Choose the "all the worksheets" option
  4. Search for the Keogh, SEP, and SIMPLE Contributions Worksheet and Look for Part III to see the SEP contribution calculation.

Thank you for the response. There is no "Tax Tools" option on the landing page. Nor anything that shows up from a search. Is there another way to find the option?

If you are using TurboTax desktop (from a disc or download), you need to click on the white Forms icon in the upper right corner.

Find the Keogh, SEP, and SIMPLE Contributions Worksheet in the list on the left and highlight it. The worksheet will show in the reading pane and you can scroll down to Part III.

You can return to the interview by clicking on Step-by-Step in the upper right corner.
