Yes, you must also enter the contribution in the first field on the "Tell Us How Much You Contributed" screen next to "Total 2024 traditional IRA contribution"

To clarify, are you trying to enter a backdoor Roth or just a regular deductible traditional IRA contribution?
Not a 'Backdoor Roth'
When I enter $8000 into the IRA contribution data window it reduces the tax obligation by an expected sum, however, when the $8000 is entered into the data field for 1/1 to 4/15 the system states that "not eligible."
Perhaps it needs to be entered in both places? Perhaps it's a technical error? If I had an emoji to use, I would use a shrugging yellow character wearing a blue sweater....
Works ok for me on Windows Desktop program even if I put the 8,000 in the second box or nothing or zero. Are you using the Online version?
Well it turns out that through the use of our dialogue in the forum I was able to determine that entering $8000 in both data fields achieved the result of the appropriate deduction.
The question is why do I need to tell Intuit that I am contributing between 1/1 and 4/15? If that data is important, perhaps the technical support team should make the appropriate adjustments to clarify the required data inputs for customers, so that deduction is calculated if the customer is qualified.
No offense VolvoGirl, but the idea of a desktop version is so 2023... If I had an emoji to use, it would be a smiling salute.
