Thanks, but the problem isn't that I don't know what I can deduct. The problem is that the 1099-R has no entry in box 2a and TurboTax then shows no taxable amount for my pension.
My solution, at this time, is to enter the appropriate amount into box 2a anyway and right-click on the box to add supporting documentation (my computations)

It appears to say what you did is essentially the correct way.
I received a 1099-R with one cent (.01) in box 1, and zero on all the other boxes. Do I have to file this 1099R with my taxes?
No, there is no need to file this Form 1099-R. With rounding, there is nothing to report.
