What is acceptable value for line 10b on form 1040 ? 300 does not work?

Try the steps below to clear and/or enter your cash donations allowed in addition to the standard deduction from the CARES Act.

 

First remove the charitable contribution at the screen Charitable Cash Contributions under CARES Act.

 

TurboTax Online, the screen Charitable Cash Contributions under CARES Act appears as the end of Deductions & Credits. First you must go past the screen Based on what you told us, the standard deduction is best for you at the end of Deductions & Credits.

 

Use the steps below to arrive at start to clear your error experience.

  1. Deductions & Credits > Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on Wrap up tax breaks.
  2. Continue through several screens > When you reach this screen Based on what you told us, the standard deduction is best for you, click Continue
  3. Remove any charitable contribution entered on this screen Charitable Cash Contributions under CARES Act.

If you have cash donations of $300 (more or less) then you can still take the 'above-the-line' deduction by entering it using the steps below.

  1. Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business) > Click on Deductions and Credits
  2. Click on I'll choose what I work on (TurboTax CD/Download version only)
  3. Scroll to Charitable Donations > On Donations to Charity in 2020, click on the start or update button
  4. Add your cash donations you made
