The income and expenses as an independent contractor will be reported on Schedule C which is part of your overall tax return. This also means you will be subject to the 15.3% SE Tax.
I already posted my income & expense when I was filling out the federal section, now I am at the part where it’s asking for a 1099-k, do I just put the same income I reported earlier if it was my only source of income?
If you reported the income earlier, you don't report it again. Make sure if you reported this as self-employed income, you list the 1099 K as the income source. It is listed as option to report income in your self-employment income section.
I don't know why you are getting this section unless you are reporting this also in the other common income section. Leave that alone if you are, or else you will be doubling up on reporting your income and making the IRS happy in the meantime.
If you need extra time, filing an extension by April 15, 2026, moves your submission deadline to October 15. But remember any taxes owed are still due in full by the original April 15 date.
