What are the $20 to $25 dollars i marked to be withheld from each paycheck on my I9 form called and where do I claim it?

Do I even claim this amount? I did this to avoid having to pay back this time of year.

The extra amount that you chose to deduct from your paycheck is already reported on your

W-2 box 2.

How or what did you fill out to have the extra $20 taken out? What is a I9? Was it a W9? You would give your employer a W4 to have withholding taken out. Do you get a W2 or 1099Misc or 1099NEC for your pay?

If you get a 1099 the withholding is in box 4.
