We are reporting pension income. Why is this telling us to do RMD?
If you are age 70 1/2 or older, you're required to take an RMD, even from pensions. The difference is that, if you receive a distribution from a pension plan for your regular annual amount, that distribution meets the RMD requirements, so simply say Yes and enter the full amount as an RMD.
