Try deleting the zip code and re-entering just the first 5 digits.
If that doesn't work, check the zip code for the city and state listed on the form. If the USPS gives you a different zip code, use that one.

I talked with a support rep. We verified the zip code as accurate, but the program will not accept. Does TurboTax have a bug?
Check the 2-letter state code for that zip code. Make sure the city and state match up to the zip code. This error happens when the state code doesn't match what is on file with the IRS. TurboTax follows the IRS for acceptable zip codes. If the state code does not match the correct state, you will get an e-filing error. Correcting the state code is usually the fix.
I had to delete the entire form and renter it. The program then resolved the issue. Just reentering the zip code was not enough. This is a bug
I am having the same issue. It won't accept the zipcode 02090.
I had to delete the form and renter it manually. It then took the zip code and everything was fine
Make sure the state code is MA

I have experienced this also. It was for zip code 63043 (Edward Jones). I have checked it via the USPS site, and it said it couldn't find the address. I took another recommendation on here and entered the corporate headquarters for Edward Jones address in St. Louis, which was accepted.
Re: Turbotax shows a zip code error on one of my 1099-R forms but it is correct and now it won't pass smart check. Newark, DE 19714-4520
Delete your Form 1099-R and type it in yourself.
Great info! I deleted my scanned 1099-R form and entered the same info manually and the error went away.
