Looks like you might have received a Form 1099-MISC for strike benefit on your 2019 tax return. If you did not receive this income in 2020, you can simply remove the form from the program. Here are the steps:
This amount should show on line 8 of the Schedule 1 and 2019 Form 1040.
I don’t have that form listed, this keeps coming up in form 3506 for child credit.
Form 3506 is the CA Child and dependent care Expenses Credit. Did you pay any child care providers in 2020? Did you take a dependent care credit on your Federal return? Review line 2 of Schedule 3. Did you use an employer flex plan to pay your child care costs? Review box 10 of your W2. If the answer is no to these, go back and look for the form 2441 then delete. While in your return in TurboTax:
I paid child care and received the credit on my federal. No flex program. No strike benefits.
These are reported on 1099-Misc. You must have a 1099-MIsc entered somewhere with strike benefits indicated as the income source. It might be from last year. While in your return in TurboTax:
The 1099 Series are informational reporting forms submitted to the IRS by third parties. The IRS then matches the form information to your tax return to insure all income is reported and taxed. If you do not include a 1099 received from a third party on your tax return, you will receive a notice from the IRS asking why. This is the CP2000 matching notice. If you receive this notice from the IRS, make sure and respond by the date indicate on the notice.
