Ok...So you are entering your Social Security benefits paid from the SSA-1099. You enter the amount of box 5 from the SSA-1099 on the TurboTax form.
Are you saying the the amount for box 5 on the TurboTax SSA-1099 is prefilled with a 0?
If that is the case an you are using the TurboTax desktop editions, the prefilled 0 indicates that there are Supporting Details for the amount in box 5. Click on Edit at the top of the desktop program screen. Click on Add Supporting Details. The click on Remove at the top of Supporting Details window. This will let you enter the amount in box 5.
Leave the box empty (blank), do not enter a 0
it wont allow me to change it. It keep refilling the 0
Is this on a W-2? If so, delete the W-2 and re-enter the W-2 manually. That will clear this problem.
Social Security Income is NOT listed on a W2. It is form SSA-1099-SM.
