When you add your US Railroad Retirement Board Form RRB 1099-R, make sure to check the box that this is a RRB 1099-R instead of a regular 1099-R when you enter the form in TurboTax.
By selecting RRB 1099-R, the correct form will be presented, which does not include a Box 7.
To get to the RRB 1099-R entry screen, follow this path:
TurboTax Online: Wages & Income>IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R)>Add/Edit
TurboTax Desktop: Income>Retirement Plans and Social Security>IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R)>Start/Update
If Box 7 on your 1099-R is empty, you will need to contact the issuer and get a corrected copy. Are you sure there is nothing in box 7 on your Form 1099-R? Is it for 2024? The number 7 is a valid code, so you may see a seven to represent the box number and also 7 could be the code. Code 7 is a normal distribution.

Could it be a 7 the same as the box number? 7 is the most common code.
If the 1099-R is from the Railroad Retirement Board, there is no box 7. The form goes directly from box 6 to box 8.
