To enter the NR4, treat it as if it is a SSA-1099 and enter it in the Retirement Plans and Social Security section, under ‘Social Security (SSA-1099, RRB-1099)’.

Then, go to the Deductions and Credits section and select Foreign Taxes under ‘Estimates and Other Taxes Paid’ to enter any foreign tax you already paid to Canada on that income

I received a NR4 with one account (non-registered mutual fund) having the same income code 11.  Do i enter my 1040 the same way?  Is it just to make it through the TurboTax program faking the SSA-1099?

The 2nd account (non-registered RRSP) also has an income code 11, followed by an exemption code S in Box 28.  Since no withdrawal has been made, so I don't have to deal with it yet.  I'll worry about it when I begin withdrawing the funds.

Is there a definitive answer to this anywhere? I have the same issue, and the accounts in question are NOT specifically a trust or estate... it's a MMF account and a T-bill account that are in my name, yet the N4R has code 11... i don't have any paperwork to support a trust or estate. I'm so confused. 😕
