The 1099 summary section is $40 more than the individual 1099's. How can I find the difference

It can come from other things like a K-1.  Did you import any 1099?  Maybe there is another one you don't have a tax form for.  Or it imported a duplicate.

Click the "magnifying glass Search" icon on the top row, enter "1099-MISC" in the search window and press return or enter, and then click on the "Jump to 1099-MISC" link to get back to the summary screen with all your 1099-MISC entries.  Check each one against the actual 1099-MISC you received, and Edit to make changes.
