How do I tell Turbo Tax that my social security is not taxable under a tax treaty because I am a resident of Canada?

It depends. We need a little more information .
We are dual citizens. We live in Canada. We receive US Social Security into our US bank account. We pay tax on all our income, including US social security in Canada. I understand from others on this forum that the US Social Security is not taxable to us on our US tax return. The problem is with the Turbo Tax software. I can't find a way to make the Social Security not taxed under the treaty once I enter the 1099. Thank you for answering.
Yes, by the Canadian-US tax treaty, you should not be double taxed. Please refer to this Turbo Tax link that mentions if you paid tax on your social security in Canada, DON"T report it in your US tax return. Print a copy of the information in that link and include that with your tax return.
