Retirement tax questions
We are dual citizens. We live in Canada. We receive US Social Security into our US bank account. We pay tax on all our income, including US social security in Canada. I understand from others on this forum that the US Social Security is not taxable to us on our US tax return. The problem is with the Turbo Tax software. I can't find a way to make the Social Security not taxed under the treaty once I enter the 1099. Thank you for answering.
