Rejected for duplicate 1099r

My return keeps getting rejected when trying to e-file saying it is rejected due to duplicate 1099-Rs but they are NOT duplicates.  I have two 1099R’s one for me and one for my spouse from the same investment company but they are different accounts and have different distribution amounts and taxes paid. Any tips for how I can get the Turbo Tax system to realize my 1099-Rs are all different?

So it turns out that the issue was 1099r's for 2 different institutions for me that have identical financial information. After talking with Desiree at Turbo Tax, she sent me some information that suggested that I add 1 dollar to the box 1&2 information from one 1099r and subtraction 1 dollar for the box 1 & 2 information of the other 1099r in Turbo Tax. I completed the taxes. So I e-filed again and with in a matter of minutes the Federal taxes were excepted and about an hour later the state taxes were excepted. While I am not completely comfortable with the solution I was assured that it will not create any trouble.

Going forward I am going to make a minor change to withdrawal from one of the institutions so that when future 1099r's arrive no institution has the exact same financial information.

Please make sure that you indicate that one belongs to you and one to your spouse on the "Who does this 1099-R belong to?" screen.

    1. Click on "Search" on the top right and type “1099-R”
    2. Click on “Jump to 1099-R” and you should see the “Review your 1099-R info” screen
    3. Review your entries.

If this doesn't help then please see What is the TurboTax phone number?

I have done what you suggested. I have even deleted them and re-entered the information. I have not had this issue in previous years when completing my taxes with Turbo Tax software running on the Windows platform. This is the first year I am trying to complete my taxes with Turbo Tax on the MAC operating system.
