You said IRA in the question and then later said 1099B. I will help show you where to enter either of these and then post a comment if that does not answer your question.

IRA

To enter pension and annuity Payments (1099-R)

  • Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
  • Click on Wages and Income (Personal Income using Home and Business)
  • Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
  • Scroll down to Retirement Plans and Social Security
  • On IRA, 401(k), Pension Plan Withdrawals (1099-R), click the start or update button

If 1099B

To enter 1099-B

  • Click on Federal Taxes (Personal using Home and Business)
  • Click on Wages and Income (Personal Income using Home and Business)
  • Click on I'll choose what I work on (if shown)
  • Scroll down to Investments
  • On Stocks, Mutual Funds, Bonds, Other, click the start or update button

Either one of these just follow through the questions and it will guide you if this was inherited.
