Why does 1099-OID keep appearing in my documents when no document was uploaded?

If you imported 1099-INT or 1099-DIV forms from your bank, the bank may have checked a box in the digital file that flagged your return by mistake.

  1. Go back to your 1099-INT and 1099-DIV entries.
  2. Open each one and check the box that says "My form has info in other boxes (uncommon)."
  3. Look for box11 labeled "FATCA filing requirement." If it’s checked, uncheck it. This box is a primary trigger for the "Foreign Account" questions.

Now delete the forms that shouldn't be there.

  1. If working in TurboTax Online:
  2. Click Tax Tools (left menu) > Tools > Delete a form.
  3. Find these forms and delete them:
  • Form 1099-OID (Delete any worksheets associated with it).
  • Form 8938 (Statement of Specified Foreign Financial Assets).
  • Form FinCEN 114 (FBAR worksheet) if it's there.

       4. After deletion, log out and back in your return to save your changes.

if you are working in desktop, go to the forms mode in your return. Select each form one at a time from the selection menu. Once these forms appear in the right-hand portion of your screen, select delete at the bottom of the form.
