I just called and spoke to customer service, and we combed through the entire return together. His advise was to wait for the updates to be completed. Every response we've received so far has been that the state forms will be updated when the federal form has been released and is updated, it appears there is no known timeline for a resolution on this.
Thank you for the response, I suppose I'll wait, frustrating. I considered hiring CPA for taxes this year due to more complicated circumstances, but turbotax has always been simple so I decided to try myself, but I'm starting to regret that decision.
As an alternative, you can e-file your federal return now and then e-file your state return later, when the federal return has been accepted. Please see this TurboTax Help article for details: How do I e-file my state after I already filed my federal?
Same here I spent three hours on the phone. One lady was not helpful at all but the other one thought it could be my state. I called the state revenue service and they told me they had no idea why that would happen that all of our states forms have been ready since 2/11. They claim it’s an issue on turbo taxes end. I called turbo tax back again and they combed through my return for nothing. I ended up hanging up on her after she had me change so many numbers my refund went negative. I had to re-enter all my data from scratch and still nothing.
@Taxesaretheworst2021 its definitely a turbotax issue..... Just gonna have to wait and see if it gets fixed over the weekend. Ive used TurboTax for the last 7 years and never had any issues until this year. TurboTax clearly likes to blame others when the fault lies with them. As I have read forms from both state and federal were completed 2/11.... here we are 2/26 and turbotax can't get their software in order.
You cannot do this if you have already paid, which is the case for most people as this issue only pops up in the last checks before filing.
If anyone gets theirs to work come give the rest of us hope. I never let my taxes go this long, I understand things are all kind of screwy right now but it’s really getting ridiculous and it just seems like none of the “tax experts” have any clue what this is.
Excellent information. The form 8915-E is not released as of this date (2-26-21) but I'm waiting. Thank you
The 8915-E was available in all versions this morning.
@cldunn87 as of 630am this morning, still not able to filing taxes. The state error is still coming up. :(
I had to wait until 2/26 to file my federal but it looks like the state taxes are now being held up with turbo because they don't have this finalized?
Depends on who you talk to. Turbo was claiming it was a state issue but it clearly says federal on the form I’m guessing it’s some kind of bug. Today is 2/27 8:23 est still no fix, will be calling turbo in the morning

What is your problem.? The 8915-E form was in all versions on 2/26.
If you are using the desktop version then you need to update to the r19 update.
That’s not my issue or a couple peoples on the thread the issue we are having now is getting a “pension deduction worksheet error” it comes up as an error on the state filing but the form says it’s federal. I’m using the web version fully updated. There’s nothing to fix on it.
If you had already entered your 1099R information before the update you will have to go back into the 1099R section and edit it to see the changes.
