I had to withdraw money early from a 401k plan to cover loss of wages because my child was hospitalized several months, does that count as "medical expenses" exemption?

The money was for living expenses, not to pay medical bills.

Lost wages are not medical expenses.  Medical expenses are amounts paid to treat a medical condition, such as the medical treatment for your child.

I figured such but thought I'd ask to confirm.  Thank you!
