I can’t file my 2020 state return for Wisconsin, it states their is an error with form 1 for early withdrawal penalties? Is there a way to fix this?

I just got off an hour and a half phone call and the response that I got was that this issue will be fixed on March 25th. I shared my screen and then the person I was talking to, spoke to some sort of "tiered" support and then they told her March 25th. So...fingers crossed I guess.

Luckily the IRS is extending the filing date to mid May.  YAY!  Per other posts it seems either March 19 or March 25th we can expect WI tax form updates in TT.  Stay tuned!

I just checked my taxes and looks like the error for 401K early withdrawal penalty for WI is now FIXED!  I passed review with no errors this time so looks like ready to file!  Hoping everyone else is able too now as well!

Did the state accept your efile return?  Mine got rejected.  Rejection reason Reject Code/ReturnState/ReturnD.  Then when I go to "fix" it it just sends me to refile.  Its looking for WI Form 1 to have the same 10% penalty as the federal form.  Arrghhh.  Back to Turbotax help line.

I received the same error. I was on the phone with them and after an hour they came back with its a form issue and wait until the 24th :(

I had the same issue. Here is what i did to solve and get it accepted. The issue was no zero populating on line 22 of mine.

Goto the tax forms on the left side of the online version. Delete the wisconsin state form 1 all pages. Go back to wisconsin check and itll generate new return.

I was able to efile and it accepted.

Hi Pickle,

SO unfortunately it will not allow me to delete state (only edit or start over).  When I start over it says you have already started this return so you can only edit it now.  I am guessing because it was e filed and rejected it won't let me delete it.  I went through tools and delete forms on left side.  It says it was deleted but then the next screen shows form 1 and its associated pages still there.

I looks like this has been resolved—I was just able to file my taxes despite issues with the 1099 previously. Good luck!

me too.  it passes the TT scan and line 22 is populated with a zero so we are stuck until we can get TT to delete WI and start over.  At least I think that is the fix for those of us who paid and then were rejected.
