If you need to remove a IRA contribution then please follow these steps:

  1. Click on "Search" on the top right and type “IRA contributions”
  2. Click on “Jump to IRA contributions"
  3. Deselect the IRA and click "continue"
  4. Confirm the deletion of the contribution.

Or use these steps to delete the IRA contribution worksheet:

  1. In the left menu, select "Tax Tools" and then "Tools".
  2. In the pop-up window Tool Center, select "Delete a form".
  3. Select "Delete" next to the IRA contribution worksheet in the list and follow the instructions.

Please be aware, if you have a work retirement contribution listed in box 12 of your W-2, you should not delete that information.

If you do not wish take the Retirement Savers Credit then select that you were a full-time student during interview (this disqualifies you receiving the credit) or follow the steps above to delete Form 8880.

If the only reason you want to delete this credit  is because TT wants you to upgrade to the Deluxe version then if your AGI is $73K or less then keep the credit by using a totally free program instead ... check out the FREE FILE options available thru the IRS :    https://www.irs.gov/filing/free-file-do-your-federal-taxes-for-free
