I am having the same issue.  I have tried removing form UE for Pennsylvania but it tells me it is coming from my Federal.  So I went to Federal form 2106 and tried deleting that one again I don't have a W-2 and I don't have employee expenses

but when removing the forms I still am unable to e-file because it tells me I need to fill in the UE form.  HELP

To get rid of the message about PA Schedule UE, please follow these steps:

1.  Delete Form 2106 on your federal return (if you haven''t already).

  1. While in your return, click on Tax Tools > Tools (in the black bar at the side of your screen).
  2. In the Tools Center, under Other helpful links click on Delete a form.
  3. Click Delete next to the form you want to delete and follow the onscreen instructions.
  4. While you are in the Delete Forms screen, make sure there aren't any W-2 worksheets that may have been transferred or created by mistake.  If there are, delete those as well.
  5. Once you have finished deleting the desired form(s) click the Continue with My Return box (in the lower right of your screen).

2.  Open your PA return.

@mford4

  1. Go through the interview.  When you come to the Unreimbursed Job Expenses screen, click Continue.
  2. On the Schedule UE Summary, click Edit next to the entry in the table.
  3. On the next screen, Your Employers, check the box at the bottom, Check this box if you do not want to include employee job expenses on this tax return.
  4. Click Continue and then Done on the next screen.

Neither of these work, desktop must have different views as you instructions don't match what I am seeing in this version. Removed 2106 in federal, also removed UE in Pa, still won't efile. Any claritiy before I do this by snail mail would be great.

You can check that federal Form 2106 and PA Schedule UE are not part of the return by going into Forms Mode.  If they appear in the list of forms you can delete them.

  1. On the Deductions & Credits screen, scroll to the Employment Expenses section.
  2. Click the Start/Update box next to Job-Related Expenses.
  3. If you see the screen Job-Related Expenses Summary, click Delete next to any entries and then click Done.
  4. If you see the screen, Do you have any employment expenses for W-2 work?  click the No box.

Now make sure the forms are no longer part of the return:

  1. Go into Forms Mode by clicking on the Forms icon in the top right of the blue bar
  2. In the Forms in My Return list on the left, click on the form you wish to open and delete.
  3. Click on the Delete Form box at the bottom of the screen.
  4. To return to the interview, click on the Step-By-Step icon in the top right of the blue bar.

Neither is listed. Where is the deductions and credits screen?

Found it and had to jump through a few hoops, but the efile worked. Now I hope it isn't rejected.
