My spouse died in 2022. I received the KPERS death benefit in 2023.
TT asks where it is from.
Is it considered part of the employer pension plan or not?
Also, it is from KS KPERS, but I live in AR. Which state do I put?
Same question about the state for the pension I receive from KPERS. Which state do I list?
Or, do I leave the state blank since the 1099-R does not have anything listed for the state?
There is an Account Number on the 1099-R, but I don't know if that is the AR State Payer's ID.
So, on the TT screen asking Where is this Benefit From? I don't know if I should be marking the box that says it is a state pension plan and listing the amount and the state as AR and that Account number, or if I should mark it as a state pension plan and leave the other boxes blank, or what?

Yes, it is considered an employer retirement plan. You would report this in the state of AR and you may leave the state blank when reporting. To avoid confusion, don't record the account number listed n the form.
