question re CT 529 contributions  -  Do I need  to enter the social security number  of the person benefitting ..  If so -- where in Turbo Tax.. Thank You

You do not need the beneficiary's Social Security number in order to claim a contribution to the Connecticut Higher Education Trust (CHET).  

You can enter this information in your state return by going through the income section on the page titled 'Here's the income that Connecticut handles differently'.  Then under the Education category, find CHET Contributions and click Start to enter your information.
