I have received a 1099-R for a 401k direct rollover to IRA. It's coded as G in box 7. Do I need to do anything else or just input that 1099-R? I want to make sure it doesn't get reported as a taxable event

Enter the 1099R. Code G will tell it that it is a direct transfer and not taxable. When you are done check 1040 line 4b should be zero. It might say Rollover by it.
