Many users have issues with importing from brokerages at this time in February. In some cases, only the preliminary statements are ready, in which case you should wait for a final statement to prepare your return.

  • According to typical schedules, consolidated 1099 tax statements for the 2025 tax year are released in waves, with the final, corrected forms often available in late February to March 2026.
  • Availability Check: You should check your Morgan Stanley Online or E*TRADE account under "Documents" to see if your specific 2025 tax reporting documents have been finalized.

If you are looking to import data for 2025 taxes, be aware that early filings may be subject to correction, particularly if they are released before the final March 2026 deadline.

See this help article for more information about consolidated statements.

Yes the 1099 documents are available. I was able to import from Etrade. But Morgan Stanley at Work is not working. The error says that 109X import is unavailable.

If you received a "Success" message but your data hasn't appeared in TurboTax, it is likely due to recent browser security updates regarding Local Network Access.

To fix this you need to allow TurboTax to securely retrieve your data through your browser settings:

  1. Locate the View Site Information icon (the "tune" or "lock" icon) on the far left of your address bar, just before the URL.
  2. Find Local Network Access in the dropdown menu.
  3. Toggle the switch to ON.
  4. Refresh the page and attempt your import again.

If permissions aren't the issue, one of the following factors may be at play:

  • Brokerage Delays: While most forms arrive by January 31, many brokerages delay Consolidated 1099s (like the 1099-B) until mid-February due to complex reporting requirements.
  • Availability: Your brokerage must specifically "release" the import file to TurboTax. If it isn’t ready, we recommend checking back.
  • Connection Blocks: Active VPNs or aggressive Anti-Virus software can occasionally block the import feature between your bank and TurboTax. Try disabling them temporarily or switching to a different browser.

Morgan Stanley at Work is currently unavailable

The 109X import service for Morgan Stanley at Work is currently unavailable.

.......

This above is the exact screen shot of what I get when trying to import 1099 from Morgan Stanley at Work. And this shows up instantly, it seems Turbotax does not even try to access any server. This has to be Turbotax issue.
