Put your 1099r on the return. For your state return it will ask if it came from and not tax it at the state level.
Put your 1099r on the return. For your state return it will ask if it came from and not tax it at the state level.
My state return AL Form 40 Sch RS column G is asking for the state ID number. It is not available on my 1009-R from The Retirement Systems of Alsabama [teacher's retirement.]
Where can I find this information?
I was told by TRSA that i should enter the tax ID # of the payer. ##-#######
Enter R000305896. as the state ID number. This should now enable you to move forward in your return.
I used the payer ID # but will save ths number in case they send it back to be corrected.
EDIT: I got a second confirmation that there is no number, but turbotax won't let that field go empty [bug?] another TRSA [teacher's retirement systems of Alabama] agent confirmed that I could use the PAYER tax ID + shown in box 15 as the state ID # in Turbotax.
Thanks for all the help!
